Useful and cheerful at once, this pencil case is adorned with a detail from Bâteaux dans le Port de Collioure, a painting made in 1905 by the French artist André Derain while sojourning with his friend Henri Matisse in the small fishing village of Collioure near the Spanish border.  

The painting was displayed at the Israel Museum in the exhibition Color Gone Wild: Fauve and Expressionist Masterworks from the Merzbacher Collection
