The cover design of this elegant notebook is based on one of the most popular sculptures in the Israel Museum Garden – American artist Robert Indiana’s AHAVA (Love). Indiana created the sculpture especially for the Israel Museum, as a Hebrew version of his famous word-sculpture LOVE. As the Hebrew אהבה, like LOVE, contains four letters, here, too, Indiana divided the word in two, placing half of the word above the other half. In English, the “O” is tilted to the right; in Hebrew, the two hehs (ה) are placed one on top of the other in a playful interaction.
The work is a gift of Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Sackler to American Friends of the Israel Museum
