The design of this coaster is based on a trompe-l’oeil painting on the ceiling of the main entrance lobby of the YMCA building in Jerusalem. This is one of the details that make up Jerusalem’s architecture, which reflects many different sources of influence. 

A photograph of the ceiling was included in the exhibition Jerusalem in Detail, based on the decades-long research of architect and Jerusalem historian David Kroyanker.
