The decoration on this square-shaped glass plate is modeled on the royal seal of King Baldwin IV, ruler of Jerusalem in the years 1174-1185. The seal shows a symbolic view of the city: a wall with a gate and three buildings – the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on the right, the Tower of David in the middle, and, on the left, the Dome of the Rock, converted into the Lord’s Temple Church and topped by a cross. Surrounding the decoration is a Latin inscription reading “City of the King of all Kings.”
