This is the bread of affliction that our ancestors ate in Egypt…

Observe the Passover Seder in style! A perfect holiday gift, this set features a three-pocket matzah cover and matching afikomen case, inspired by embroidery motifs and traditional decorated fabrics in the museum’s collection.

On Passover Eve, a blessing is recited over three matzahs placed one on top of the other. The upper and lower ones recall the “double loaf” of challahs on the Sabbath table; the middle one, split in half and consumed at the end of the meal, is the afikomen, eaten “in commemoration of the Passover sacrifice.”
