The original is the earliest known Seder plate in the world – one of a small collection of Jewish ceremonial objects that survived the Spanish Expulsion. The inscription at the center refers to the main components of the festive meal: Pesah (Paschal lamb), Matzah (unleavened bread), Maror (bitter herbs), and Seder (the ritual itself). The spelling mistakes suggest that the plate was made by a non-Jewish craftsman unfamiliar with Hebrew script. 

The original is in the Israel Museum collection, gifted by Jakob Michael, New York, in memory of his wife, Erna Sondheimer Michael
